E. J. McDougall Receives Platinum and Gold at the 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards
Some recognitions carry significance far beyond the medal itself.
The 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards brought together nearly 17,000 wines from 58 countries, assessed through an exacting blind judging process involving 245 of the world's leading wine professionals.
Among those results, E. J. McDougall is honoured to have received:
Platinum – 97 Points
2024 McLaren Vale Old Vine Shiraz
Gold – 95 Points
2025 Margaret River Chardonnay
For us, these awards are not simply an acknowledgement of two wines.
They represent the dedication of our growers, the character of Australia's great wine regions, and the continued international recognition of Australian fine wine.
This year's Decanter results also highlighted the breadth of Australian excellence, with standout wines recognised from Hunter Valley, Eden Valley, Tasmania, Margaret River, and Frankland River.
It is a reminder that Australia's story is no longer one of potential; it is one of proven quality.
We remain grateful to the Decanter judging panels and Co-Chairs for their commitment to rigorous blind assessment, giving confidence to buyers, collectors, and wine professionals worldwide.
As custodians of Australian fine wine, we look forward to continuing this journey with humility, passion, and respect for the vineyards that make it all possible.
